About this job
We are looking for a Construction Management Specialist to assist in the installation of new Main Transformers and a major upgrade of the Isophase Bus Duct Cooling. The successful applicant will work closely with the Project Manager on a daily basis and report to the Supervisor Nuclear Construction / Plant Projects. Manage the activities of contract personnel to ensure full compliance with site and corporate procedures. Coordinate the activities of vendors and in-house personnel in the performance of post modification testing. Review and obtain approval for Project Lay-down plan. Preparation of Job Safety Analyses (JSA) in accordance with site procedures. Ensure prepared work packages meet site quality standards and that they are fully understood and properly applied by construction personnel and that all project preparation is in order. Ensure that the project is implemented in accordance with approved design documents at all times. Alerts the Responsible Engineer immediately in the event a field revision is required to an Engineering Change Package. At all times maintain an understanding of the current progress of the project with respect to planning/implementation and should be able to give details of why project is ahead/behind schedule at all times. Coordination with Materials and Planning organizations to ensure parts required for implementation are available to support ongoing activities. Provide oversight of manufacturing by completing shop visits as required. This may involve occasional travel. Working with vendors and in-house personnel to develop optimum project plans that achieve quality objectives within schedule and budget constraints. Working with vendors, in-house personnel and the project scheduler to determine needs and develop accurate schedules. Development and implementation of contingency plans for high risk items. Complete other assigned activities as assigned by the Project Manager. Duties
Qualifications: Experience with implementation of major modifications is a must. Experience with either transformer change outs or isophase bus duct cooling upgrades is a plus. Both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines will be considered.
